The Indian methanol market
was divided by discussions about Russian origin offers, while muted talks with
the Middle East were held. While buying indications
for Middle East origin material remained at $390-400/mt, there was limited
trade activity due to the higher selling ideas. Rupees 0.25/kg Ex-tank Kandla was lower than usual due to
muted buying that capped gains at the local rates. The local buyers reported buying 500 mt of methanol at Rupees 30-35/kg
Ex Hazira on April 20. As end-users in
Southeast Asia were served by term cargoes, there were not many discussions
about spots. Sources said that there were
inquiries for May delivery at several ports in Indonesia. However, buyers
weren't in a rush to buy as trade activity slows down...
