Rising ammonia costs to further increase pricing Demand remains firm



The US spot acrylonitrile
price continued to rise over the week, as US demand remains strong. Commodity Insights rated US spot acrylonitrile as $2,230-2,250/mt FOB USGC
basis April 12, an increase of $120-130 over the previous week. According to a source, pricing had been discussed at $2,230-2,250/mt
and was based upon the last trade. The US
continues to see strong demand for acrylonitrile, with "few end-users for
[acrylonitrile] doing better in high-oil environments." Market participants will be keeping an eye on the upstream
feedstock movement, including the strength of the ammonia market. It is
expected that acrylonitrile prices will reach $2,500-2,530/mt. As the market is extremely contracted, producers may reduce
production rates. This will leave spot sellers to "make to order". Domestic ACN contracts were flat...
