Spot export acetic acid from
the US Gulf Coast was stable during the week of July 14, at $1,750-1,780/mt FOB
USG. This is despite talk of stable pricing. Reports of trade activity were again absent for
the week. Recent weeks have seen mixed opinions regarding
market demand. According to one source, "demand continues
being strong," while another source stated that "not much demand but
not much supply" was the case. Market
participants recently stated that they believe forces majeures will begin to
lift in July. However, LyondellBasell and Celanese did not
immediately respond when asked for comment. The price
