Insights (down $4.25/mt week-on-week and stable on the daily), NWE toluene
supplies remained tight while demand shrank on May 6. High premiums continued to be driven by supply issues, one
consumer pointing out that there is no economic incentive for refineries to
produce toluene right now because gasoline is the focus. A consumer stated that the refineries currently run at
approximately 90% capacity, but have no production capacity for toluene. This
is leading to a slowdown. Another source,
this one a producer, reported a "huge rise in demand for octane
