Asian Recycled recycled LDPE: Prices drop $5/mt on weak demand, but outlook is unclear /Virgin LDPE price rises /Market participants look to policy changes

On July 9, the price of recycled low-density Polyethylene in Asia fell by $5/mt from week to week. Natural film pellets were priced at $825/mt, FOB Southeast Asia. Mixed offers were made, but the most aggressive ones showed a slight decrease in price levels when compared to a week ago. LDPE film prices in virgin markets rose by $5/mt over the past week, to $1,030/mt CIF Far East Asia. One trader reported that recycled PE prices were "steady" in China, but there were limited orders due to a bearish or steady outlook for recycled PET. A second trader focused on Malaysia or Vietnam said that the markets were slow, but domestic prices were stable.
