SE Asian buyers were reluctant to trade due to the recent appreciation of US dollars against many Southeast Asian currencies. They cited high costs. The traders reported that there was some interest in selling, but no buyers. The US tariffs on Liberation Day have yet to be fully implemented and reflected in Asian markets. Sources said that governments who implemented EPR schemes funded the collection recyclable materials. These schemes encouraged manufacturers to take part in waste management. This led to an increase in collection rates.
