Asian recycled polyethylene terephthalate prices were stablein the week ended March 19 on prevailing discussions.The absence of mandates for post-consumer recycled contenthindered demand, as most buyers preferred cheaper virginmaterial.Export demand to Europe was heard to be low, while exportdemand to the US was described as stable. A trader reported that the US was requesting R-PET pellets, flakes and bottlebales because of the uncertainty surrounding the US-Mexico relationship. Mixed blue flakes are more readily available and cost less than clear flakes. FOB Southeast Asia RPET clear flake prices remained stable over the past week at $900/mt.Amongst bales, it was reported that Malaysia had the lowest price followed by Indonesia and Thailand.
