prices were slightly lower this week than last week due to the softness of the
virgin PET market continuing to have a moderate effect on market momentum. On the week ending Aug.
19, FOB SEA PET PET bottle grade virgin PET closed at $11,180-11,200/mt, its
lowest level since Jan. 31, 20,22 when it closed at $11,175-11,200/mt. According to regional suppliers, they expect a decrease in
demand due to lower US bale prices, which could impact the region's appetite
for imports. Sources said that European
demand is still supported by strong domestic demand. Some industry professionals noted that the demand-side
