The price of recycled polyethylene Terephthalate in Asia was stable during the week ending April 2, according to discussions. The slowdown in business during the Hari Raya holiday season has led to a slowdown in demand throughout Southeast Asia. Indonesia closed its doors for a holiday lasting a week until April 7. Traders confirmed this. FOB Southeast Asia clear R-PET flakes are stable at $910/mt. R-PET clear flakes are preferred by most sources. Sources said that the light blue/green mix is used to reduce the amount of anti yellow additives needed for certain packaging products. Some end-users prefer recycled PET flakes that have a PVC content less than 350ppm to reduce the cost of their final fiber product, traders reported.
