prices were stable despite low waste collection and thin trade on Oct. 5, as most
of the PE resin was exported to China. From Oct. 1 through Oct. 7, Chinese market participants were
off-season. Sources claim that trade has
been affected by a lack of recycled film. The trader said that recycled PE film demand was low because the use of recycled films is
not mandated in Asia. It becomes competitive only when the virgin price is high. Sources also said that recyclables are not economically
viable at the moment because they don't offer a significant discount on virgin
