recycled polyethylene prices remained stable due to thin trade. While most
Southeast Asian recyclers continue to focus on the US and Europe markets, they
admit that it is difficult to find shipping containers. According to traders, there would be a net shortage of
approximately 1 million Europeans by 2025. The recycling rates in Europe were high at less than 70%,
but this was not enough to meet mandates. It also needed to exceed 75% by 2025.
Traders stated that the recycled plastic rate in applications was currently
less than 20% in Europe but would need to increase to 25% by 2025. A lot of Asian traders also claimed that food-grade recycled
