Asian Recycled HPPE: Prices stable despite muted trade- The upstream
costs are increasing for recyclers- Stock
tightDue to weak buying in key export markets,
Asian recycled high-density polyethylene prices were stable this week, compared
with week July 6. Slow
demand was causing concern for regional suppliers. Low buying in key export destinations like China and India
adds to the off-season demand lulls, with domestic Chinese prices trending
lower. Recyclers are competing for plastic
scrap and the feedstock supply is also tight. A market source suggested that this could be due to tighter
regulations or countries exporting the material wanting to use it for their own
purposes. He also said that end-product producers are not under any pressure to
