Asian Recycled HDPE: Stable in thin trading■ More expensive■ Strong US dollar makes imports expensive





The prices of Asian recycled high-density
polyethylene remained stable on June 1 despite the lackluster trade. According to market
sources, the weak import demand from China is due to the dollar strengthening
against the yuan and lockdowns. Global
Recycled Standard certified cargoes were still available at a wide range of
prices, with a maximum price of $1,900-1,940/mt CFR China. Black pellets were sold at $765-790/mt FOB Southeast Asia. For their natural color, this was then adjusted to $965-980/mtFOB
Southeast Asia. According to sources, the
market outlook was being affected by uncertainty over virgin feedstock prices,
