The Asian general-purpose
polystyrene spot price (GPPS), was unchanged at $1500-1535/mt China, and flat
for that period at $1650-1680/mt Southeast Asia on April 20. Meanwhile, the
high-impact plastic styrene price (HIPS), was flat at $1540-1575/mt in China and
steady at $2,740-2,780/mt in Southeast Asia. Expandable polystyrene price (EPS)
was flat at $1.625/mt FOB Northeast Asia general-purpose, and $1,775-1,795/mt
fire retardant grade at $1775/mt Despite China's
relatively low domestic PS prices, Asian PS and EPS discussion remained sparse.
Import demand was also weak. Spot
discussion in China's domestic market for GPPS was heard at Yuan
10200-10,600/mt, or $1,338-$1,391/mt based on import parity. HIPS was heard at
