Due to low trading
activity, Asian paraxylene was down $2-4/mt at $1,195-1,210/mt CFR Taiwan/China
May 6 and $1,175-1,195/mt FBO Korea May 6. The
marker closed at $1,195-1,210/mt CFR Taiwan/China, and $1,175-1,195/mt FBO
Korea on May 6, $10.84/mt lower than the previous week. The floating basis saw bids for Asia-origin June arrival at
plus $10-14/mt. Offers at plus $15-20/mt were also heard, both against CFR
Taiwan/China's June daily mean. The key
paraxylene/naphtha price spread was boosted by tight supply and firm buying
interest, as well as opposite fundamentals in naphtha. It reached a high of $300-325/mt
