Asian paraxylene fell $26/mt to $936/mt
CFRUnv1/China Nov. 21, reflecting declines in upstream crude, naphtha, and
downstream PTA. January crude oil futures fell
$2.93/b to $87.03/b. The C&F Japan naphtha marker dropped $21/mt to
$700.50/mt. The PX-naphtha spread which has been under
pressure due to Shenghong's PX startup as well as a weaker demand picture,
narrowed to $235.50/mt (November 21) from $240.50/mt November 18. On Nov. 21,
PTA futures prices dropped by large amounts on China's Zhengzhou Commodity
Exchange. PTA futures prices fell Yuan 218/mt ($26.54/mt),
to Yuan 5,176/mt, for the most liquid January 2023 contract. During the
afternoon session, they dropped Yuan 200/mt, or $24.35/mt, to Yuan 5,188/mt. According to
