Asian
isomer-grade mixedxylenes dropped $15/mt on day to $960/mt FOB Korea, and
$970/mt CFR Unv1. They also fell $2/mt Nov. 9 to $925/mt CFR China Nov. 9,
following the market for paraxylenes and lower upstream
prices. Participants stated that annual term negotiations for 2023 had not
begun yet, and producers are being cautious due to an uncertain market
outlook. Sources indicated that the downstream paraxylene market could
also have an impact on Mexico. There was a wide gap between buyers, sellers,
and PX during annual term negotiations for 2023. According to market
sources, participants are more interested contracts with buyers in Europe or
the US. Cargoes could flow from Asia through 2023.
