Asian isomer-grade mixed xylene rose week
on week by $31/mt to $844/mt FOB Korea, was up $29/mt at $868/mt CFR Unv1 and
up $31/mt at $849/mt CFR China. Prices were supported by an improved outlook
for China given the country's relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions. Meanwhile,
the rise in MX prices was negatively affecting down stream production margins,
with the spread between PX and MX shrinking $22.67/mt over the week to
$114.83/mt on Jan. 6, the lowest level since $112.67/mt on Dec. 8.In China's
domestic MX market, the January price of ex-tank cargoes in East China was
heard at Yuan 6,880-6,900/mt, or about $857/mt on an import-parity basis. February's price was Yuan
