Due to firmer upstream prices, Asian
isomer-grade mixed xylene rose $24-30/mt on Sept. 9, at $1006-1040/mt FOB
Korea, and at $1001-1040/mt CRU Unv1. It was up $14-20/mt on Sept. 12, at
$1.012-2.500/mt CRU China. Asian
paraxylene prices rose $36-42/mt to $1,099.33-1,130.50/mt of CFR Unv1/China,
with November ICE Brent crude oil futures at $92.82-97.50/b at 0830 GMT Asian
trade. The PX-MX spread was at $93.33/mt
as of Sept. 12, an increase of $12-17/mt over Sept. 9. However, margins from
the end-user side still look very poor. A
Northeast Asian end-user stated that spot negotiations for MX have been slow in
recent months, with producers likely to see better returns in gasoline than in
