than May offers. Sources claim that May offers could be rolled over due to concerns about China's demand. April offers from key producers increased by $80-$100/mt
over the previous month. On the week, the
domestic China PVC market declined due to a decrease in demand following
coronavirus-induced lockdowns. Ethylene-based
PVC dropped from Yuan 100-140/mt on the week, to Yuan 9,100-9,300/mt. Carbide-based
PVC was down Yuan 100-135/mt during the same time period, at Yuan 9,500-9,700/mt. Chinese PVC producers exported PVC to India, Southeast Asia, and China despite lower domestic demand. Carbide-based PVC was valued at $1,300-1,330/mt FOB China.
