before January's release, Asian polyvinylchloride was assessed as stable
week-on-week on Dec. 1. Although there were some sporadic
December offers in the market, demand was low as market players expected
January offers to be lower. The December
offers were reduced by $150/mt-$180/mt over November to $1.490/mt- $1.510/mt
China CFR, $1.710/mt- $1.730/mt India CFR, and $1.460/mt- $1.490/mt FOB Taiwan. Market sources indicated that January's fresh offers would
likely drop by $30-$50/mt. Others claimed the drop could exceed $100/mt-
$130/mt. Domestic China's market was
weaker than it was the week before. According
to S&P Global data, the Ethylene-based PVC prices were stable week-on-week
at Yuan 9,900/mt on Dec. 1....
