EDC markets stable as May negotiations
largely end  VCM prices fall on PVC declines  



In Asia, the EDC markets
were quiet for the week ended April 28. There was little discussion due to
falling VCM/PVC prices. Major producers claimed they
had sold out of May-loading after having completed a tender and that they
weren't sure when the next tender would be announced. This would most likely be
June-loading material. Prices in the VCM
market fell following declines in PVC markets. Northeast Asia prices fell $115-130/mt from $1,135-1,150/mt
CFR North Asia. A producer blamed weak PVC prices in the domestic and export
Chinese markets. Buyers stated that they
considered the price reasonable considering current PVC prices and would accept
