Asian PVC exports hit by weaker buyer sentiment / Thin activity in SE Asia due to tariff uncertainty Tianjin Bohai closes its 800,000 mt/year plant for maintenance

Asian PVC prices varied in the week ending April 16. Chinese export prices fell, while China domestic PVC was rangebound due to fluctuations in domestic futures as well as ongoing plant turnarounds. CFR China PVC increased by $5/mt in line with tradeable indications at $700/mt. China's ethylene-based PVC remained unchanged at Yuan 5,050/mt on April 16 while China's carbide-based PVC increased by Yuan 40/mt to Yuan 4,830/mt. China's PVC production rate has been estimated to be 74.73% according to market sources. This represents a weekly decline. Chinese PVC suppliers are still under pressure due the ongoing uncertainty in global trade policy and China's property downturn.
