India PVC: Stable despite domestic weakness, BIS concerns / Chinese PVC supplies to India tighten as BIS deadline approaches / Domestic market is weaker, at Rupees 66 to 69 per kg

According to sources, India's import prices for polyvinylchloride (PVC), despite the weakening of domestic markets and uncertainty over upcoming Bureau of Indian Standards certification requirements which have reduced cargo availability of Chinese origin, remained unchanged in the week ending June 4. CFR India PVC suspension at $720/mt unchanged during the week of June 4. This is based on a confirmed offer of $740/mt by a Southeast Asian origin shipment, and a tradeable level heard at $720/mt among several buyers. The Chinese PVC supply has been tightened in India ahead of the BIS deadline. Freight rates have also increased significantly.
