Asian PVC prices were stable to firm in the week ended April2, with Chinese prices largely holding steady despite inventorypressure and slowing export demand, while Southeast Asia sawthin activity as Eid-al-Fitr holidays continued in some Muslimmajoritymarkets. The CFR China PVC Price was $695/mt on April 2, the same as last week, below a price heard from ex-Korea of $720/mt. The price of ethylene-based PVC remained unchanged from week to week at Yuan 5,100/mt on April 2. Meanwhile, the price of carbide-based PVC remained stable during this period, at Yuan 4,925/mt. Inventory pressures are high, particularly for carbide-basedPVC. The trade sources noted that Chineseexport prices have not been affected so far.
