Asian PVC Price Drops to Over 7 Years Lows in China,
Despite a weak domestic demand- China re-imposes lockdowns as new cases emerge- Buyers

$1,000-1,050/mt over the past week. This is the lowest level since October
2014. China's domestic demand remained weak and there was little hope of it
recovering. In Shanghai, lockdowns were reimposed. A source claimed that
China is desperate to export and there is no question about imports at the
moment. The domestic China market saw
ethylene-based PVC prices fall by Yuan 500-550/mt over the week. They were
assessed at Yuan 7,700-7,800/mt on July 6. Carbide-based PVC prices too were
