Asian PVC: Stable ahead of Oct Offers

HTML3_■ Japan's Tosoh will increase PVC capacity in IndonesiaThe Asian polyvinylchloride price was
stable week-on-week on Aug. 31, ahead of an announcement of new October offers. Asia PVC prices at $905/mt in China and $1,000/mt in India. Both prices are stable week-to-week. The September offers were reduced to $900/mt China,
$1.020/mt India, and $830/mt FOB Taiwan. These prices are a reduction of $930/mt
or $1,090/mt respectively. Market sources
indicated that October's fresh offers would be cut due to increased competition
from US materials. Some sources however
said that fresh October offers would remain stable due to the stabilization of
the local China market. August 31: The price
of ethylene-based PVC rose from Yuan 100/mt weekly to Yuan 6,600/mt. Carbide-based
PVC went up from Yuan 50/mt to Yuan 6,450/mt....
