Asian PVC continues to fall, as China still needs- PVC CFR China drops below 1,000/mt- August market activity is slowThe higher supply from China caused PVC prices to
continue to fall in Asia for the fifth week. PVC CFR China fell below
$1,000-1,040/mt for the first time since April 2020 when Asian markets were locked
down to stop the spread of COVID-19. On July 13, the marker was $980-1000/mt,
down $20-25/mt weekly due to poor demand in China. According to sources,
there is not much PVC being traded on the Chinese domestic market. Despite
the pressure on margins, producers were forced to export in order to reduce
inventories. The domestic Chinese market saw carbide-based PVC at Yuan
6,400-6,500/mt. This was down Yuan 300-350/mt during the week. Meanwhile,
