Asian PVC: Weaker amid Market Uncertainty Southeast Asia downstream demand unclears /Cautious Approach due to Tariffs

The Asian PVC price was stable to soft during the week ending April 9. This was due to falling upstream costs, and a cautious market sentiment following recent US tariffs. CFR China PVC was unchanged at $695/mt on April 9 compared to the previous week, below sales indications of $700-$720/mt. China's ethylene-based PVC fell Yuan 50/mt from last week to Yuan 5,050/mt on April 9. China's carbide-based PVC dropped Yuan 135/mt in the same time period, at Yuan 4,790/mt. According to sources in the trade, Chinese PVC production tightened during the past week as a result of scheduled maintenance at multiple plants.
