The Asian PVC price range was stable during the week ending May 7. China domestic prices were unmoved by post-holiday stocking, but export prices remained unchanged despite a weaker export demand. CFR China PVC at $700/mt on May 7 remained unchanged from the previous week, with cargo allocations to China for ex-Japan or ex-UNV1 having been completed. China's domestic ethylene-based PVC was down Yuan 15, or 15 cents, per mt over the previous week to Yuan 4,895/mt on May 7. China's domestic carbide PVC also fell Yuan 15, or 15 cents/mt in that same time period. A trader stated in the morning that the domestic spot price had fallen to a new low [after the holidays], while downstream buyers were more active.
