On Jan. 10, the Asian paraxylene Market on
Close assessed received a record number of bids for March and March delivery
cargoes. This was ahead of February cargo declarations due on January 15. The demand for cargoes is
increasing as China's purified terephthalic acids plants restart production.
Therefore, traders are now looking for spot cargoes to deliver to China. Yisheng Petrochemicals has resumed production of PTA and is
now buying cargo from the MOC. A March bid was made for an open-origin cargo. On Jan. 10, no cargoes were traded, but the demand for PX
cargoes has kept PX-naphtha spread steady and above the $300-315/mt mark since
