Asian PTA prices moved lower week over week amid fresh concerns on softening downstream demand and poor margins. PTA FOB China at $624/mt on July 11, down $10/mt day over day. The weekly average was $11.4/mt lower week over week at $634.2/mt in the week ended July 11. PTA producers in China are once again struggling with weak margins as worries arise on downstream polyester activity, sources said. Polyester production in China dipped and that has raised concerns, a trader in Singapore said. "Market has changed since [the] start of the week [and] PTA market started coming off," he said.
