Asian PS : Prices rise amid upstream volatility- Higher Producers Pricing due to Upstream Volatility- Activity remains low and demand is still weakAsian polystyrene $20/mt more week-on-week
due to an increase in upstream styrene monmer prices. Styrene monomer rose
$39/mt to $1,096/mt CFR China Jan. 11. According
to a producer, polystyrene markets usually track the movements in styrene
monmer markets but this week there has been no apparent increase in orders due
to customers' "average" demand. The
producer stated that customers are asking for February-arrival cargoes as they
approach the Lunar New Year holidays. Asian
GPPS increased $10/mt on week at $1185/mt CFR China Jan. 11. CFR Southeast Asia
was up $20/mt to $1,295/mt. Over the same
