aiming for lower levels in response to falling upstream prices. February
ICE Brent crude oil futures dropped $3.33/b on the day to $79.36/b in Asian
trade at 0830 GMT. This was due to recession fears and the possibility of
higher interest rates. A buyer from Southeast Asia claimed that he was
able obtain general-purpose polystyrene at a price below $1,100/mt. However, he
also stated that this was unlikely at the lowest prices and below market
levels. Sellers could not verify the prices. FOB China offers were
received this week at around $1,170/mt GPPS and $1,270/mt high-impact
