Asian PS : Rises with Higher Offers Heard- After the Lunar New Year holidays, market activity resumes- Customers using wait-and-see approachAsian general purpose polystyrene was
$10/mt more expensive than the previous week at $1.220/mt CFR China. CFR Southeast
Asia rose $10/mt from $1,245/mt February. Producers offered significantly higher prices this week than
the prices before the Lunar New Year break. Some producers quoted $150/mt more
than trades last heard. "Our prices
were increased to reflect the increase in upstream styrene monomer price. Customers' side, they generally stock up before the Lunar
New Year so many are waiting and watching. According to a PS producer, customer enquiries have
increased compared to the time before the holidays." A producer of expanded polystyrene that had increased prices
before the break stated that their prices were "kept at level"...
