have improved overall. Although demand recovery in China was slower than
expected, activity is now picking up due to more active
discussions. Upstream markets saw styrene monomer drop by $42/mt CFR China
to $1.101/mt February 8, while butadiene increased by $140/mt during the same
time period to $1.160/mt CFR China February 8. A Chinese trader said that
demand has increased a bit this week and that prices have risen quite a bit
compared to the previous Chinese New Year. This was due to the pressure on
