PS: Inches up amid higher styrene ■ Key markets closed ■ Crude oil rises on week Asian
polystyrene prices were slightly higher this week due to a rise in feedstock
styrene monomer prices and volatile crude oil prices. Styrene monomer increased
$2-3/mt week-on-week to $1,310-1,350/mt CFR China in May 4. The July ICE Brent crude oil futures increased to $108-120/mt,
an increase of $3-5/mt over the previous week. Some market participants attributed weak demand to China's
lock-downs, whose domestic prices have been lower than the international prices
for many petrochemicals over recent weeks. Further, trading activity was also reduced by the fact that
many countries in Southeast Asia, Japan, China, and Japan were on long
