The European polypropylene market activity
was quiet for much of the week ending Aug. 31, as market participants waited
for the industry-settled European Propylene contract price agreement. According to market sources, the September
industry-settled European propylene contract was settled at Eur165/mt compared
to August and Eur1,230/mt on Aug. 31. The September settlement is the
lowest since October 2021, when it was Eur1,193/mt. One propylene
producer stated that September's outlook is not good for demand. "I'm
not convinced that a decrease in the CP... can fix the market. It will not
change the demand. Sellers in the PP market were waiting to see if
there would be an increase in demand after a quiet August. August is
