Asian Propylene Prices: Price fluctuations over the day; Participants seek clarity - Increased cargo volume expected from Middle East and Thailand Market awaits clarity on any possible PDH operation rate reduction

On April 9, the Asian propylene markets were mixed, with Chinese domestic prices increasing and CFR China (China) and FOB Korea (Korea) prices decreasing. The Platts CFR China and FOB Korean markers were both $5/mt less than the previous day, respectively at $815/mt & $780/mt at intraday levels, on April 9. CFR Northeast Asia traded in the $810-820/mt area. A trader stated: "I've heard that the price is dropping as naphtha prices are also falling." A second trader stated: "More cargoes will be coming from the Middle East, Thailand and Southeast Asia as we expect lower run rates in Northeast Asia for PDH units due to tariffs."
