The European oxo alcohols
market remained stable in the week of September 1, despite limited market
activity as participants waited for the settlement of upstream propylene's
contract price. Participants
pointed out that producers were struggling to make ends meet due to high
natural gas and electricity prices. Some producers also wanted to stabilize
their oxo alcohol prices for September. Low
Rhine water levels in August have caused logistics problems. This has led to barge
vessels, railcars, and tank trucks becoming congested and making them more
expensive. The domestic 2-eh spot price
was unchanged at Eur1,850/mt FDN WE, with no disproving indicators. The 2-eh spot prices for export were unchanged at
Eur1,850/mt FD NWE, reflecting the stability in domestic pricing. Participants anticipated that the September...
