Nov. 29 saw stronger support for the
propylene market as tight supply and low inventories from Chinese end-users
drove up indicative bids. January ICE Brent crude oil futures
contract rose $4.1/b to $81.1/b at 0830 GMT, compared to the previous Asian
close. Propylene imports have increased due to the
rising price of crude oil. Propylene from Shandong was heard at
Yuan 7,525/mt exc-tank, an increase of Yuan 75/mt. According
to Chinese sources, propylene prices are rising due to low inventories and
planned shut downs among producers. The price
rise was caused by a major Shandong producer shutting down its PDH Dec. 5. A
