Propylene markets saw stronger support Nov.
29, as tight supply and low inventories among Chinese end-users pushed up
indicative bidding and offers. The January ICE Brent crude oils
futures contract was up $4.1/b compared to the previous Asian closing at
$81.1/b at 0830 GMT. Propylene
prices rose due to the rise in crude oil. Because
of low downstream ACN margins, the PDH plant supplies propylene for its ACN
plant which produces 290,000 mt/year. Many
ACN producers in Northeast Asia have reduced their run rates or shut down to
mitigate weak margins because of a supply glut and poor downstream demand. An
