August 11th saw the Asian propylene market
remain unchanged as buyers resisted buying due to uncertain fundamentals. The ICE October Brent crude
oil futures were $1.62-2.50/b higher than the Asian close of $97.61-102.50/b
0830 GMT Aug. 11. However, the rise in
crude oil prices did not lift propylene feedstock prices. A buyer in Shandong said that although domestic propylene
prices have been rising recently, he still expects a correction in propylene
imports and domestic material's price in the near future, because downstream PP
is still very weak. The average breakeven
spread of propylene was $150/mt. Propylene
