- Shandong propylene up Yuan 25-35/mt- Propylene imports are a concern for buyers.

Because of weak downstream demand for
propylene, the propylene market was stable. The February ICE Brent
crude oils futures contract fell $2.23/b from its previous Asian close of
$86.53/b at 0830 GMT. Propylene demand
continued to rise due to depleting inventories in China by end-users and a
planned shut down among producers. A
Korean propylene producer stated that some believe PP is slow and propylene
prices could be capped. Shandong propylene
was reportedly heard at Yuan 7,675/mt excank Dec. 2, an increase of Yuan 25/mt
over Dec. 1. Eastern China propylene was lower at Yuan 7,250/mt, Yuan 50/mt. A buyer in China stated that the PP price was still very low
and propylene's price could not rise further due to weak fundamentals.
