September 23rd as Chinese buyers had largely finished their restocking before
the week-long National Day holiday in October. The November ICE Brent
crude oil contract closed at $88.55/b, $2.51/b lower than the Asian close. This
was at 0830 GMT on Sept. 23. To reduce their
margins in the face of a glut in propylene and the high downstream demand, many
Northeast Asian polypropylene producers have reduced their plant run rates. The propylene market was supported by some restocking in
