plant by 70% in AugustAs weak import demand continued to weigh down
prices, the Asian propylene market trend was lower than expected on July 15. The
September ICE Brent crude oil futures rose $0.51/b over the previous Asian
session of July 14, to $99.01/b by 0830 GMT Asian close. However, it did not
support the propylene industry. According to a Korean trader, reducing
propylene producer run rates was not enough to save the market. According
to the Korean trader, "Because Polypropylene is already at a very low
running rate anyways, cutting running rate NCC isn't important, the key thing
