the restart of steam crackerThe November 2 Asian propylene market discussion was
sluggish, with most participants worried about slowing polypropylene demand. Market sources claim that
a PP supply glut is affecting propylene buyers as suppliers are struggling to
sell due to weak international demand. According
to market sources, buying indications on the dollar markets dropped
week-on-week as Chinese domestic markets declined. SCG Chemicals Thailand is looking at delaying the start of
its Rayong Olefins Co. naphtha fed steam cracker, although maintenance work on
the unit has been completed





According to a source close, This was similar to other
Asian naphtha-fed steam crackeder operators who have reduced operating rates or
delayed restarting units due to weak economics in the petrochemical industry.
