As the ongoing Asia supply glut weighed
in on the import prices, the Asian acrylonitrile markets fell over the week
ended February 15. According to reports, the price of
acrylonitrile was Yuan 11,000/mt- Yuan 11,030/mt for the week ending February
15, an increase of Yuan 100/mt. After
taking into account currency conversions, VAT, and import taxes, the domestic
price was more than $1,500/mt-$1,540/mt CFR China. Earlier reported that China had an oversupply
of ACN after the Lunar New Year holiday. Many plants were operating at their
maximum rate and producers are now facing inventory pressure. China's Jiangsu Sailboat Petrochemical maintained run rates
at two of three 260,000-mt/year Lianyungang acrylonitrile plants...
