Rhine water levels continued to fall,
slumping to 55 cm as of 1400 GMT Aug. 4 at the key chokepoint of Kaub,
according to German waterways data, meaning barges are unable to fully load for
fear of running aground and the product is therefore stuck in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp hub. The Rhine level has not
affected naphtha on crack or structure. A
market participant stated that the weakness is due to the long sitting in ARA
and low consumption. "There's no bull signal really." Market participants in Asia attributed the increase in
imports between July 28 and Aug. 3, to an increased demand for heavy full-range naphtha. A
