Benzene's price moved lower for
a second day Jan. 4, with one market source attributing the fall to the lower
overall energy complex and asserting that supplies are still tight in the
region despite lower production for downstream styrene. January DDP benzene 9
cents lower on the day at 304cents/gal. Sources said Jan. 4 that
there isn't much benzene available for sale in the market. "Supplies can be scarce. Most of the styrene production has returned to normal. "Styrene's prices rose $135 per day in line with a
January trade at $1,200-1,2040/mt. NYMEX February WTI fell 4.09 to $72.84/b.
